탑동호텔 - Jeju-si, Jeju-do

I found Tapdong Hotel a good deal for the price they charge. The rooms were clean and the sheets and pillows had no smell. The bathroom was also clean and had a quaint bathtub on legs, although I thought the lighting in the bathroom could be brighter. Towels, shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush and toothpaste were provided. The reception was dark (saving electricity probably) but the lady at the reception (who spoke no English) was all smiles and allowed us to inspect the rooms first. Parking is available at the hotel itself. The location of the hotel was also good, being close to shops, restaurants and cafes. The covered market and the Jeju waterfront is within walking distance of the hotel. Overall, I'd say Tapdong Hotel deserves a "Good" rating (3 1/2 stars?).

줄비하고 길 건너편에 대형마트가있어 편리하고 삼겹살거리도 근거리에
있어서 칠성로 쇼핑거리 볼거리와
먹거리들이 천국이라 탑동호텔에서
숙박하면서 시간활용을 잘할수있어
너무 너무 실속있고 알찬 여행이 됬네요 😊😄👍👍👍

We stayed one night at this hotel, as it was recommended by Lonely Planet travel guide. ||It was the worst stay we had on our vacation - the room was dark, really smelly (probably mold!!!), tables sticky, bathroom sink dirty, towels smelly and walls dirty with insects smashed. On top of that, the receptionist (angry elderly man who spoke no English) woke us up at 7am, pounding at our door asking about our payment which we had already done. ||In total we cannot recommend this place. You can find cheaper and much more clean and nice hotels in the city!!

제주에는 많은 숙박업소가 있지만 바닷가이면서 주변에 편의시설, 카페, 음식점, 상권이 함께 갖춰진곳은 많지않습니다. 탑동호텔은 공항과 가까워 교통이 편리하고 바닷가와 100m미만 거리에 있으면서 주차공간이 많으며 한국관광 공사가 지정한 제주흑돼지 음식점 골목과 5분거리이며 이마트와 탑동공원, 카페, 상가, 편의점 등을 끼고있으면서도 조용한곳이어서 좋았습니다. 객실은 5성급 특급호텔과 비교하면 안되고 관광호텔, 동급호텔과 비슷하다고 보면됩니다. 최근에 시설개보수도 한듯하며 새로오신 관리인과 종업원으로 보이는분들이 깔끔하게 청소하고 정리정돈이 청결에 신경을 많이쓰고 해서 그런탓인지 부담없이 쾌적하게 쉴수 있는 곳으로 추천합니다. 특히 친절하여|기억에 남습니다.

I didn't actually stay here but as the hotel particularly recommended by Lonely Planet for Jeju-si I went to look at the rooms, before deciding not to stay, and am writing this review as there's only been one. The lobby is dark. The woman in charge spoke no English but was very pleasant. The room I saw was extremely basic but fairly spacious with a small, dingy-looking bed, and an adequate en suite including a bath with feet. It looked clean enough, but generally dingy, dark, and depressing. No internet (though I was told I could pay an extra 5000W a night (on top of 50,000W for the room) to have internet. There's no need to stay here - much better options for the same price.

This place is the worst place we ever stayed in (and we got to travel in many 3rd world countries). We took a twin ensuite room, unfortunately for two nights (for which we paid in advance).||The room was Filthy, borderline health hazard!!!||There was hair everywhere (on the floor, in the bed sheets, in the towels), dried blood drops on the toilet seat, dead mosquitoes smeared all over the walls\ceiling, cockroaches, stinky bed sheets, dust everywhere. When we asked the maid to provide us clean towels, she droped some of them on the coridor floor, picked them up and put them back to the towels "clean" pile (later these towels were distributed to the rooms she was cleaning).||Additionally, the rooms facilities were lacking, burned light bulbs (we complained in the reception and nothing was done), no hot water, etc.||When we asked to change rooms the receptionist lied to us telling us that there was no vacancy (a fact we refuted when we talked with the maid).||Another issue is security - most of the day and night there was nobody in the reception, allowing anybody to just enter the hotel freely.||||I really hope that my review will prevent other poor travelers to make the mistake we made and check-in to it. This place was so bad that it pretty much effected our stay in Jeju island (which is supposed to be a heaven... far from the experience we had).

호텔가까의바다가있어저녁에산책할수있어좋았고주변에먹을거리들도다양하고공항과가까워서너무편리했습니다||호텔로들어선순간헤이즐넛커피향이마음을사로잡았고안내하시는분이친절하게설명도해주고객실은집에온듯편한분위기와침대시트가매일교체하는다림질한하얀시트라위생적인면에위안이되였어요||여름휴가를3박4일동안여기서편하게잘지내다왔어요||객실요금도부담없어좋았구요||휴가를가시는분들에게강력히추천하고싶네요
